Nobody Owens would have been a normal kid, if he weren't raised in a graveyard.
The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman, is ABSOLUTELY reccomended. I loved it. It's so different and so magical and so gorgeous to read, with a very clever/subtle sort of twisted maturity under it's seemingly children's story exterior.
The tall guy with the umbrella is Silas, Nobody's guardian, and I might add that he is the sexiest children's book character ever, I think. Haha.
And Nobody Owens, he is supposed to be a young kid, he grows up to 15 in the story, so I drew him as a 15 year old here. His adoration/attachment for his guardian Silas in the book is adorable. He's always asking if he'll see Silas again, and he gets upset whenever Silas is leaving.
Gah, so much love.

Ola DA ! My major exams are just over, now waiting for the results with bated breath. And college...*whimper*
I both loathe this and like this. It's dedicated to Neil Gaiman, but I don't think I did a very good job, actually...I kinda hate the way I draw people and how it seems so disoriented and messy.
I don't know why I just don't feel confident about what I've been drawing lately, anyway, just wanted to share this with you guys.
I really do. It's got an amazing feeling to it - as your work so often does.
Nervous Art breakdowns = *hugs* Usually get out of them better and improved, though, don't we. An artist friend of mine once said that artistic crises are phases of development rather than regression. But the doubt is horrible to bear.

The book sounds really good! (did some research after seeing this) I've got to get a hold of one o.o Plus messy art is good; i'm messy whenever i draw too, xD. i think it's alot more expressive and shows more flow than whenever I try to draw clean xD, and i RLY love the way you color!!

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I got lost on the road to life - Hatake Kakashi
did you color that with like water colors first, and then ink over it with a pen the drawing?

"To be an Artist, is to see the world in a way no one else sees."
I actually inked it with a pen first, all colours are digitally done.
im glad you like this, i was feeling unsure about sharing this at all.
I'm a detail whore now, and this is practice for developing a new style.
